South America · Chile & Argentina
Destination Overview
Patagonia occupies the southern tip of South America — a 1,000-kilometer stretch of granite spires, ancient glaciers, turquoise lakes, and winds that can end a trek in minutes. It is extreme terrain that demands serious preparation and rewards the effort with landscapes unlike anything else on Earth.
Torres del Paine National Park anchors the Chilean side: three granite towers rising 2,800 meters from the steppe, an ice field covering 2,300 square kilometers, and trails that have tested the best trekkers in the world. We design routes for every level — and we secure the camp reservations months in advance that most travelers can't get.
Best Time to Visit
November – March
Southern Hemisphere summer. December and January bring the longest days. November and March offer smaller crowds with full access to trails and camps.
Duration
8 – 14 days recommended
5-day W-Trek for focused trekkers. 8-day O-Circuit for full circumnavigation. We build custom routes for groups who want to go beyond the marked trails.
Physical Requirements
Moderate to strenuous
W-Trek requires reasonable fitness. Full O-Circuit is demanding. We offer luxury lodge alternatives with day hikes for guests who prefer comfort over camping.
Getting There
Punta Arenas Airport (PUQ)
Fly Santiago to Punta Arenas or Puerto Natales. We handle all internal transfers, gear logistics, and park permit reservations.
What We Include
The signature trek to the base of the three towers at sunrise — a 4am departure, headlamps on trail, rewarded by one of the most arresting views on the planet as light hits the granite.
Strap on crampons and walk across the Grey Glacier — blue ice formations, crevasses, and seracs. A certified glacier guide leads every crossing on private excursions.
Paddle through the Fjords of Chilean Patagonia — channels carved by glaciers, seal colonies on floating ice, and skies so clean the stars are disorienting at night.
Andean condors with 3-meter wingspans ride thermals above the steppe. Guanacos, pumas, and Darwin's rhea in terrain unchanged for thousands of years.
We secure private camp sites in restricted areas of the park, away from public trekking corridors. Hot meals, premium sleeping equipment, and a chef in the wilderness.
Continue south to the literal end of the world — Ushuaia, Argentina. Beagle Channel navigation, penguin colonies, and the sub-Antarctic ecosystem at the southern tip of the Americas.
Sample Journey
Private transfer to Puerto Natales. Gear check, route briefing, and acclimation dinner at a local estancia with southern Patagonian lamb and Chilean wine.
Private vehicle transfer into the park. Afternoon hike to Lago Grey viewpoint. First night in premium private camp with glacier views across the lake.
Full-day glacier trek with certified guide. Crampons on blue ice, lunch inside a natural ice shelter. Return to camp by boat across Lago Grey.
Three days on the iconic W-Trek — Valle del Francés, Mirador Británico, and the Cuernos del Paine. Private guide, premium camp at each stop, all meals included.
4am departure. Headlamps up the Ascencio Valley. Arrive at the mirador as alpenglow hits the granite towers. Worth every step. Return to lodge for full lunch and rest.
Two-day guided kayak through Chilean fjords. Optional extension to Ushuaia for Beagle Channel navigation and penguin colony visits before return flight from Punta Arenas.
